This hand-carved piece and many others come from Wayan Murdi who works primarily with Rain tree wood. He began carving on his own in 1985; In Bali Familly skills are often transmitted, from father to son. that’s why he always wanted to follow the path of his own father and hope his two sons will also appreciate the art so the legacy can continue. He has worked with his father until he had enough money to open his own workshop. There are 15 people working with him from his village of Mas now. Asian culture inspire his artwork.
